Brownfields
Funding for Brownfields Assessment and Clean-Up
Environmental Site Assessment Funding: MARC provides grant funding for Environmental Assessment activities for eligible brownfield sites. Environmental assessments, including some clean-up planning activities, may be funded by an EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant or by Program Income generated through the SWCBRLF, when available.
MARC has just received a $300,000 Community-wide Brownfields Assessment Grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This funding will be provided to interested developers, non-profits and individuals to conduct environmental assessments on eligible sites and buildings with suspected environmental contamination that may be restricting planned redevelopment. For more information, click on the Environmental Assessment link above or contact Cindy Ingersoll.
Site Clean-Up Planning and Remediation Funding: MARC provides technical and financial assistance for site clean-up planning and remediation through the Mount Ascutney Regional Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (MARBRLF). This program is funded through an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund grant which allows MARC to give grants to municipalities and nonprofits, and low-interest loans to all property owners who meet EPA eligibility requirements.
